3. The Most Accurate Cutting | 4. The Most Challenged Edge Finish |
Labyrinth Healing Garden Year: 2011 Location: Mary & Al Schneider Healing Garden, Seidman Cancer Center, Cleveland, OH Stone: black granite and red porphyry, 2" thick. Master cutting and a discerning eye were needed to complete this project. Each piece of porphyry was chosen or rejected in order to match the other porphyry pieces, complement the black granite, and achieve the desired aesthetics. After the stones were chosen, each piece was cut by water jet in order to accommodate the curves and exact fit of this intricate design. The resulting structure fulfilled the client's vision for this healing garden. | Unique Edge, Innovative Packing Protection System for Ocean Club Resort Year: 2007 Location: Ocean Club Resort, Bahamas Quantity: 106 units Achievement: Creating a unique, innovative packing system for international air freight suitable for huge islands with laminates that jutted out from the edge of the slabs. This project was one-of-a-kind, and it is one that we accomplished effectively and with great results. Large kitchen islands (59" x 39" with 100" x 36" peninsulas) were created with long, narrow lamination bars that jutted out from the edge of the slab. Special care was required to handle these products, which were shipped via international air freight. To prevent breakage, Lunstone created a unique packing protection system that would withstand airport handlers. To the satisfaction of our client, the islands arrived in excellent, unbroken condition at the job site. |
